Adventures during Pandemic
Jan, Feb. March 2020 We were told there was nothing to fear. One of my clients regularly travels to China, He never got sick and we continue to see each other often. We were living our lives normally until the narrative shifted. Then we were told to lock down. Two weeks to stop the spread they said. Then the goal posts kept moving. I went through my pictures and notes for the past year two years and found: Number of days I stayed home or missed work; zero. Number of holiday get togethers cancelled; one, the first Easter. Number of Hash runs cancelled; zero. Number of times the grandkids visited; too many to count. Number of times I used hand sanitizer; once, when the dentist put it in my hand. Number of states entered; 16. Number of times I called the phone number to let them know of my travels; zero. Number of times I stayed out of the parks when our governor closed them; zero. Number of times I wore a face diaper without being forced to; zero. Number of times I got the vaccine; zero. Number of times I stood on those stupid floor spots; zero. (See a pattern here?) Activities during the pandemic with other people or groups; in order of sequence, Skiing, hashing, beach club weekly during the summer, Biking and Mountain biking, Inn to Inn tour in Vermont eating indoors and staying at Band B’s, meeting with clients, (some were reluctant at first but later agreed to meet, without incident), Sailing from Newport to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, Mountain Biking at Stewart in NY, Boating on Lake Wallenpaupack, Sailing to Annapolis, New Hampshire mountain biking, Texas visit with my son and his family, Powerboat and biking at Martha’s Vineyard, Horseback riding, Cross country skiing, Christmas party with friends, mountain biking, Texas again, Marco Island, St. Thomas and St John sailing adventure, back to Texas, Wyndham skiing, more cross country with friends, back to Texas again, Fort Meyers vacation, Mountain biking in New Hampshire with friends, back to Marco Island for a mural project staying at hotels along the way. Home for the summer, going to the beach club on weekends and meeting many friends, more mountain biking, hiking, parties and get togethers. I do understand that those who were elderly, sick, obese, diabetic or suffering from other health problems were wise to take precautions and we mourn those who have been lost to the virus, but for well over 90 percent of us the risk was minimal compared to other diseases, and, certainly not bad enough to impose the drastic measures that were imposed on us. And now that two years or so has passed, some of us are slowly waking up to the fact that the so-called miss-information spreaders, who were censored by our government with the help of the journalists and tech companies are proving to have been right. It may take some time for all of the adverse effects of the shot to be discovered, (blood clots, sudden adult death syndrome, nervous system failures and seizures, Myocarditis, menstrual problems, fertility problems, sudden aggressive Cancers, and low sperm counts to name the most common) not to mention the severe mental and developmental problems and suicides brought about by the lock downs. But closing of the schools, where the children were the least likely to succumb to the virus, is a sin that will take years, if ever to recover from, and those who brought this about should suffer the consequences. We as Americans should never let this happen again. As always, I do not ask for agreement but rather some consideration.
